WELCOME TO AUDHD UNZIPPED

AuDHD Unzipped provides ADHD and AuDHD coaching, lived experience talks and workshops for late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults, parents and organisations.

I'm Dave Bedford, the
Founder of AuDHD Unzipped

I received my late Autism diagnosis at the age of 40, as a direct result of my son's own diagnosis. This led me to reframe many aspects of my life, because I had believed that all the struggles I had encountered were down to me being Hard of Hearing from birth.

Ten years later, after my eldest received a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, I realised I too was AuDHD, and was formally diagnosed with ADHD. Upon reflection, I had always felt I was a walking conflict of interest. It was suddenly clear that I had spent many years masking, overworking, and self-medicating just in order to fit in.

I'd either felt too much, or not enough. Stuck either in survival mode, or heading for burn out.

Two drivers of the same vehicle. A paradox that would frequently cause paralysis in many aspects of my life.

Understanding Neurodivergent Individuals Talk

I found it really insightful to hear about the importance of clear communication, and how valuable it is to give an individual time and space when they're struggling with communicating or having a meltdown.

Thank you David for a really interesting and informative talk and for sharing your story with us. You have given me some good tips to help me support my clients who are neurodivergent.
